Working with Shaw Trust
The Work and Health Programme (WHP)
The Work and Health Programme is a Welfare to Work programme commissioned by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). It is designed to improve employment outcomes for people with health conditions or disabilities and those unemployed for more than two years.
How we are working with Shaw Trust
Enterprise Exchange are helping to deliver the Work and Health Programme as a specialist provider, in partnership with Shaw Trust and collaboration with Job Centre Plus, across the Midlands, Home Counties and West London.
If you are interested in receiving self-employment support yourself, or are a Shaw Trust Support Manager considering referring a participant, please see the below information and contact your local Shaw Trust office to find out more.
What we provide
We offer a self-employment course which comprises of three workshops and one, one-to-one follow-up session. We also offer one-to-one support for those participants who are unable to participate in the course. Please see the below outline of the participant journey:
- Participants are referred into our service by their Shaw Trust Support Manager.
- Our team makes contact with the participant to welcome them to our support service and agree on the next steps.
- We send all relevant information by email and text message to the participant, so they have everything they need for the support to start.
- By the end of the support service, the participant will have received one or more personalised action plans and many resources to progress towards their goal.
- If a participant would like funding to start their business, we can support in making their application ‘loan ready’, as we work closely with official Delivery Partners of the Government Start-Up Loans Scheme.
